At one point of my life when I worked in a convenience store to save money for school, a very cute, very sweet girl would come in while I was behind the counter. As a pleasant surprise, she would chit-chat with me for extended periods of time. It's also worth noting that the floor beind the counter was raised a couple inches relative to the level where the customers stand, making any cashier appear a couple inches taller, and in this case, at eyelevel with the cute girl.
One day when I was on the floor (and back at my regular height) just walking around, trying to starve off boredom, I got that odd feeling that you get when someone's staring at you. So, instinctively, I turned to the direction of the stare, which was out the store.
Passing by was the cute girl looking me up and down with a disappointed, slightly disgusted look. She then turned away, continued to walk past the store and then I never saw her again.
